about
Newton Colours is an original collaboration between a Scottish folk/ rock singer and a French electro/ hip hop beatmaker, weaving genres into a unique sound in their debut album: “Where the Weather Went.” The ten album tracks are powered by songwriter Will Dee’s deep, unusual voice, melded with FORM’s ethereal and epic melodies. The result is a rich musical proposal, unclassifiable, with all the sums of its parts resonating in unison. A band is born.

LYRICS - FOCUS - (NEWTON COLOURS)
I demonstrate a dead man’s traits
Everything would be great if we got straight
Pills down the drain and them bills on the slate
Quake on the pavement, can’t open the gate
(Chorus)
I
Can not
Concentrate
Man
Should
Contemplate
She demonstrates these speed demon traits
Deliberately placing herself in this state
She lays down later than fashionably late
Too much in the brain; don’t you mention the plate
Tension I mention, like death worse than fate
Stress of this distress at blistering rates
Twisted up the system now, flick reset, reactivate
Switching-up-the-picture-now--flip-it-round-to al-ter-nate.
(Chorus)
These days
The lines are blurred (they shift and they shake)
I demonstrate shambolic traits
Tripping up over the truths we create
Slipping up on the lies you spit. On all this: I can’t relate
Hard to maintain when you deviate, eh? See no way to regulate.
And of late I cannot say: sure, not sure just where to lay.
Then you say you’re taking off, y’bat yer lashes, backing up.
And of late I cannot stay - focused on the night today.
Everyday ways breaking off; and the line she’s brea-kin’-up.
(Chorus)
These days
The lines are blurred
She says
The nights are worse
Focus, love
